Book Coaching
For writers who want to write the book themselves, and want to see it finished.
Most unfinished books aren't unfinished for lack of talent. They stall at a particular place: the outline that never settled, the middle chapters that multiplied, the draft that sits in a folder because no one has read it yet. The writer knows the book is in there. What's missing is a steady structure around the work and someone on the other side of the page.
That is what book coaching is. You write every word. I help you decide what the book is, build a plan you can keep, read what you write as you write it, and walk you through everything that happens after the last chapter, from editing to a published copy in your hands.
Who it's for
Book coaching suits the writer who wants their own sentences on the page. Some have a finished draft they can no longer see clearly. Some have forty pages and a feeling of drift. Some have a business, a practice, or a life story and a firm deadline they keep missing. If you would rather hand the writing to someone else entirely, ghostwriting is the better fit, and I'll say so on our first call.
What we work on
- The shape of the book. Premise, reader, promise, and an outline that holds its weight before you write the next chapter.
- A schedule you can keep. Page targets and milestones sized to your actual week, with regular check-ins that keep the work moving.
- Feedback as you go. I read your pages and return notes on structure, clarity, and voice while the chapter is still warm, not a year later.
- The road to publication. Self-publishing or traditional, the right order of edits, cover and interior, platform setup, and a launch plan that fits the book.
Ways to work together
Book strategy session. One long working session on where the book stands and what it needs. You leave with a reviewed outline and a written plan for finishing.
Ongoing coaching. Monthly calls, page feedback, and steady accountability while you draft and revise. This is where most books get written.
Draft to published. A fixed-length engagement that carries the book from its current draft through editing, production, and publication, with every step planned in advance.
Every engagement is scoped and quoted after a discovery call, so you pay for the support your book needs and nothing it doesn't.
Coaching, editing, or ghostwriting?
The three differ in who holds the pen. In coaching, you write and I guide. In editing, you've written and I refine. In ghostwriting, I write in your voice. Plenty of books use more than one: a writer drafts with coaching, then moves into a developmental edit once the manuscript is whole. We choose the order on the discovery call.
