Privacy Policy
How this site collects, uses, and protects information. Effective May 29, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how Sarah Richards, operating the website SarahtheScribe.com ("we," "us," or "the site"), handles information about people who visit the site or contact us through it. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.
Who is responsible for your information
Sarah Richards / SarahtheScribe.com is responsible for the information described in this policy. If you have any questions about it, you can reach us using the details in the Contact section below.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the site and respond to inquiries:
- Information you give us. When you submit the contact form, we collect the name, email address, project type, and any message you choose to provide. You control what you send.
- Usage and analytics data. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. This includes pages viewed, approximate (city-level) location derived from your IP address, the type of device and browser you use, the site or search that referred you, and how you move through the pages. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this.
- Server and security data. Our hosting provider and content-delivery network automatically record standard technical information (such as IP address, request time, and browser identifier) to deliver pages, maintain security, and prevent abuse.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. This site uses analytics cookies set by Google Analytics to recognize returning visitors and measure site usage. These cookies do not identify you by name. You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings; the site will continue to work without them, though some usage measurement will no longer be possible.
How we use information
- To respond to inquiries you send through the contact form.
- To understand which content is useful and improve the site.
- To keep the site secure and operating correctly.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not send marketing email to people who contact us unless they ask us to.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. Information is processed only by the service providers that make the site function:
- Google: Google Analytics (usage measurement) and Google Fonts (typography). Google may receive your IP address when these load. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare: content delivery and security. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Our web host: stores the site and delivers contact-form messages to our email.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of the site or its visitors.
Your choices
- Opt out of Google Analytics. Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser.
- Control cookies. Adjust or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time.
- Access or delete your contact-form data. Ask us to see or delete the information you submitted through the form, and we will do so where we are not required to keep it.
Data retention
Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and maintain our records, after which they are deleted. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a professional, adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or applicable law changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date shown above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
