A writer shaped by structure and story.

I grew up in Michigan, spending summers with my grandparents in the Upper Peninsula, where adventure, independence, and a love of storytelling first took root. Early in my career I built a foundation in leadership and organizational management, including serving as chief financial officer for a substantial manufacturing company, where I oversaw operations, internal communications, and cross-departmental collaboration. I wrote the procedures, designed the processes, and learned that real leadership isn't just about managing projects and people. It's precision, purpose, and impact.

Outside of my professional career, I earned a black belt in taekwondo and served as an instructor, an experience that deepened my commitment to discipline, focus, and the balance between creativity and structure. Perhaps more importantly, after regularly standing in front of a mat full of four-year olds, keeping them engaged and following directions, I could likely do just about anything.

A lifelong outdoor enthusiast, I'm a veteran solo canoeist in the Boundary Waters, Quetico Provincial Park, and Temagami, and I've hiked deep into the backcountry of Washington, British Columbia, and Arizona. I've also studied at the college level in neuroscience and cognitive science, fields that turn out to matter quite a bit when your work is getting language to land in someone else's mind.

In 2020, I relocated to Arizona to focus more fully on writing. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Arizona State University, graduating summa cum laude and a member of the National Honor Society. Earlier, during a seven-month self-directed writing residency on Orcas Island, I completed the first draft of a novel while exploring the rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest. My travels across Germany, France, Spain, and Argentina have further expanded my understanding of storytelling across cultures.

Today I work across ghostwriting, editing (developmental, line, copy, and proofreading) and technical writing, with twenty-eight ghostwritten books to my name and bylined criticism that ran in ScreenRant from 2022 through 2024. My unfair advantage is economy of language: without going sparse or overwrought, I write prose that is clear and picturesque through judiciously chosen words. That holds true whether the work is fiction or nonfiction, and whether the name on the cover is mine or yours.

The part clients remember is the voice. I write in your voice, not mine, and the moment that tends to land is when someone reads the first draft and says, "This sounds exactly like me, but better." For me, writing is about more than words. It's about telling the kinds of stories that last, the ones shaped by experience, perseverance, and a clear understanding of what moves people.
